I didn’t leave the United States for the first time until I was in High School and that was just a quick walk across the border to Mexico. But as a kid I spent a year traveling the US by mini-van with my sister and parents as they chased the dream of comedy. It wasn’t glamorous but my sister and I learned to entertain ourselves with very little. The second time I left the country was for my first Interior Design job. First stop Hong Kong, and then the companies office in Shanghai and a weekend jaunt to Beijing. My mind was blown, and my cup was full. Now my husband and I enjoy bringing our kids to visit family in Thailand every summer an fitting in as many other trips as time and money allow. Its fantastic seeing the world, especially though the kid’s eyes.
