What’s Cooking
First cookbook I’ve loved….. ever?
I’ve been on a major culinary kick. I’ve always loved preparing a good meal. I feel like the troubles of the day melt away with some onion or garlic sautéing in olive oil and because I know I can make it turn out well. After a while, with three young kids at home and growing a business, there felt like there just wasn’t any time left for any meal taking two steps to prepare. During 2020, I also slipped into major survival mode and in turn gained 50 lbs. On the eve of my 40th birthday my lovely doctor told me it was a “now or never” moment to lose that accumulated mass and get back to feeling like myself again. I took a hard look at my habits and decided the best thing I could do for myself and my family was to truly nourish our bodies. I’ve put a strong focus on whole food, protein and plants AND recipes that are really delicious. Here are some of my favorites to date.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the VOLUME of recipes online. There are so many amazing bloggers, authors and chefs that are sharing their BEST recipes. So when a friend recommended this cook book I was really excited for a finite set of recipes to work my way through. Its been years since I bought a cookbook and I don’t think I’ve ever found one that has so many recipes I was excited to try! These are all delicious, easy and flavored with spices instead of fat. Some things are spicy but we love that around here. She gives tips on how to reduce the heat if you can’t take it.
